OUR STORY

Thakar Dass & Co. (“TDC”) was established in Delhi in 1950, by Mr. Thakar Dass Kapoor, who relocated to Delhi from Lahore at the time of partition in 1947. As the story goes, in Lahore he was trading in cloth imported from a German national, who he lost touch with when he left Pakistan in 1947. The German who was impressed with his integrity and business acumen came looking for him in Delhi and offered to start a business of chemical trading.

Later on under the guidance and vision of his son Mr. Hari Krishan Kapoor, who was the driving force behind the Company’s growth, TDC spread its coverage to the whole of North India. Under his leadership, TDC established relationships with various multinational companies.

    Thakar Dass & Co. established by Late Mr. Thakar Dass Kapoor in Delhi

  2. 1955

    Late Mr. Hari Krishan Kapoor joined the family business.

  3. 1967

    Started representing Bayer India Ltd (now known as Lanxess India Pvt Ltd ) for rubber chemicals business.

  4. 1972

    Branch office and warehouse established in Kanpur.

  5. 1975

    Started representing Indian Petro-Chemical Corporation Ltd (IPCL) for Polybutadiene Rubber. (IPCL merged with Reliance Industries Ltd).

  6. 1982

    Branch office and warehouse established in Agra.

  7. 1985

    Branch office and warehouse established in Ghaziabad.

  8. 1992

    Started representing ChemTrend for their release agents business.

  9. 1994

    Established an in-house Technical team.

  10. 1995

    Thakar Dass & Co. Pvt. (“TDCPL”) Ltd established with a manufacturing facility in Bhiwadi, Rajasthan, and started production of rubber chemicals as a co-producer for Bayer.

  11. 1996

    Started import business of Rubber Chemicals.

  12. 2003

    TDCPL launched its own brand “TDCURE”.

  13. 2005

    Branch office and warehouse established in Faridabad.

  14. 2006

    Branch office and warehouse established in Rudrapur. Started representing RheinChemie for the speciality chemicals business in the same year.

  15. 2011

    Added Reliance Industries’ Styrene-Butadiene Rubber to the product portfolio.

  16. 2013

    Started representing Phillips Carbon Black Limited for their carbon black business.

  17. 2018

    Implemented Oracle ERP across all locations to streamline and better integrate operations.

Our vast distribution network with a total storage capacity upwards of 1,000 MT makes us the largest distributor for the rubber industry in North India.
